I don’t wanna be FAT!!!!!!!!

The YO-YO effect - It’s that personal touch that counts.

Were you expecting me to give you the magical formula for losing weight? Well, you’re in the wrong place then. :)) But if you’re here, you might as well stick around and hear me out.

There are many times in our lives when we want to make some changes but due to different circumstances, we give up while trying to reach our goals.

So, I often hear students say : I’ve lost my motivation.

I always feel like asking : Where were you keeping it?

To be honest, from my point of view, if you’ve lost your motivation, you’ve never actually had it.

However, if you were motivated, but during time, you’ve become tired, anxious, depressed, exhausted … you name it … then that I can understand. But your motivation is still there and we can do something about it.

But how do we get back on track?

Method 1

You simply think that you do not want to be fat.

What do I mean by that?

Well, when you decide to go on a diet and start the diet, you see results quite fast in the first few weeks. Then, you stop losing weight fast.

And then, one week … nothing. OMG how frustrating, how annoying, how upsetting.

And because you are so so upset, so start eating … a piece of chocolate … a slice of pizza … Anyway, you weren’t losing weight so you might as well eat something that you love.

Now you put on some weight, and after some time you realise …

you should go on a diet.

But because you gave up, you don’t just have to lose 5 kilos anymore. You have to restart and lose again 25.

When you could have just hung in the first time and see the results, slowly but surely.

It is the same with learning.

If you learn and feel you’ve made progress, but at one point you feel it’s too much, too difficult, too … whatever excuse you give yourself, and stop learning …

… and after a few weeks you realise : Oh, I really need to pass that exam …

… and you go back to studying, you are going to realise that some of the things you knew, you’ve forgotten …

… and you have to restart learning them again.

And thus, the YO YO effect.

It would have been much easier not to stop in the first place.

Don’t you think so?

So, just hang in there; swear, cry, put the books aside for a day or two, but then go back to studying.
